John David Spagnolo, Sr [72], of Morrisville, North Carolina, passed away on November 30th 2018. John was born in Yonkers, New York on November 20th ,1946, the second son of Rosario (Ross) and Antoinette Spagnolo. He graduated from Lincoln High School of Yonkers, New York.

John married Margie, his wife of 22 years, on November 16, 1996. He joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in October of 1994. During his time within the church, he served many Callings including teaching Gospel Principles, instructing youth and Priesthood holders, and was a High Priest Quorum Instructor. For those on their mission trips, John’s
house was known as “the house” to go to for great food and friendship.

John is survived by his wife Margie; two younger brothers David and Andrew; children John David Jr. and his wife Debbie, Christine and her husband Mike Armstrong, Joseph and his wife Liz, Bonnie and her husband Mike Carter, and Carol and her husband Scott Spagnolo-Hye; step children Joe, Lisa, Greg, and Rod Fuller; 21 grandchildren - Vincent, Briana, Elissa, Thomas John, Jacquelyn, Kayla, Autumn, Amanda, Greg, Ashley, Dereck, and Ryan; great-grandchildren, Julian, Macy, Arya, and Zella. 

In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his oldest brother Joseph. 

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to The Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, 4180 City Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19131. Attn: In Memory of John David Spagnolo Sr. His youngest daughter, Carol, earned her medical degree there and he always wished to give back to the school. A fund for students demonstrating financial need has been set up in his honor.

A memorial service will be held at Friday December 7 th at 11:00am at The Church Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 6011 McCrimmon Parkway, Morrisville, North Carolina, 27560. Services with be conducted by Bishop Dale Cowley and President Steven Bodhaine. The family of John David Spagnolo, Sr. wishes to thank Duke University Medical Center,
Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit for their dedicated care and sincere kindness.
